“Su has been pivotal in both our sons’ educations. She has worked at two schools with them. She worked for years with one of our son’s diabetes management and was so understanding and kind if he had to change a pump at school or needed to store some snacks in her office drawer. She always took a genuine interest in both of our boys and the things they were doing. We love you, Su! Thanks for all you do for all the students and the huge impact you make!“

“Mr. Strong is the epitome of what RISE stands for. He welcomes students to his classroom at all times and makes them feel valued. He cares about the students individually and looks out for them. My daughter and her friends always know they can go to Mr. Strong for anything; he’ll make them laugh and give them a treat. They always know they matter because Mr. Strong encourages them and supports them. It’s so great to have a teacher like that at the school so the kids have someone to turn to that makes them feel good about themselves.“

“When I went to Mr. Strong’s CCA class for 7th grade, I didn’t know what to expect. But, he gave us really fun ways of learning and even gave us a Spa Day for a cosmetology unit! I told people how awesome he was and that they were definitely going to have such an amazing time with his class. Mr. Strong never fails to put a smile on his students faces.”

“Mr. Purvis teaches in such a way that intrigues his students to want to learn in his class. All of his lessons include some type of activity that everybody wants to join in. After the activity, he asks how we can relate this to the actual lesson. All students raise their hands, wanting to participate. Being in his class is a blessing!“

“Ms. Lewis is remarkably compassionate. My daughter misses a lot of school because of health issues, and she is unfailing kind and helpful. She also selflessly spent time over the summer to help my daughter work on math she had missed while she was sick. She encourages not only her students, but me, whenever I communicate with her. She is steady and unflappable, always available to help students help new concepts.“

She helps students see their potential, helps them dream big, lets them problem solve, and instills confidence and leadership in young people. She has truly impacted the lives of students in such a positive way.“

“Ms. Cheney obviously cares deeply about her students and their success in her classes. After my daughter started junior high with a 504 plan, Ms. Cheney contacted me and requested a meeting to learn more about how she could help my child succeed in her class. Orchestra was her favorite class last year, and she is excited to continue learning a new instrument this year with Ms. Cheney. But, what’s most remarkable to me is how my child’s face lights up whenever she sees Ms. Cheney or has a chance to interact with her.”
